A voluntary way to communicate
You can use WhatsApp Business for questions about the coaching, practical arrangements and communication about your training. Email and the contact form are available as alternatives. Using WhatsApp is not a condition of receiving coaching.
Please do not send health data through WhatsApp, including medical reports or details of illness or injury. The consent requested here does not cover such data. If this information becomes necessary for coaching, we will agree a separate process.
What data is processed
When we communicate, I receive your telephone number, profile details visible to me, messages and any attachments, together with communication timestamps. I use these details to handle your enquiry and provide the communication you request.
WhatsApp also processes its own account, device, connection and usage data, such as IP addresses and usage timestamps. Messages are generally end-to-end encrypted in transit; this does not prevent processing of metadata or storage on the devices involved.
Provider, recipients and international processing
For users in the European Economic Area, the service is provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited. WhatsApp processes certain data as an independent controller and may transfer data to affiliated companies and service providers outside the EEA, particularly in the USA, as part of its global operations.
WhatsApp describes transfer mechanisms including adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses. Details of the applicable mechanisms, recipients, purposes and retention rules are in the WhatsApp Privacy Policy (external website, new tab). The WhatsApp Data Processing Terms (external website, new tab) also apply. My consent process does not replace a required lawful mechanism for international transfers.
Consent and confirmation
My use of this communication channel is based on your voluntary consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. It does not cover advertising. WhatsApp’s independent processing is governed by its own privacy information and legal bases.
You can start contact using the “Contact me on WhatsApp” button. Before you move to WhatsApp, I show you this information and an unticked consent option. A prepared message then opens, which you must send yourself. I only reply through WhatsApp after receiving this confirmation. Opening the app alone is not recorded as confirmation.
The received confirmation message, telephone number, message timestamp and corresponding text version are kept as evidence of consent. Merely ticking the box is not separately logged on the server.
I consent to Jonas Rapp processing my telephone number, profile details and messages to communicate about my enquiry and, where applicable, my coaching through WhatsApp Business, and to contacting me through that service. WhatsApp also processes connection and usage data, potentially outside the EU. Use is voluntary; I can use email or the form instead. I can withdraw my consent at any time for the future through WhatsApp or by emailing [email protected]. I have read the WhatsApp privacy information. This consent does not cover advertising or the processing of health data.
Withdrawal and retention
You can withdraw consent at any time by messaging me on WhatsApp or emailing [email protected]. I will then stop communicating through WhatsApp. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it was withdrawn. Withdrawing consent from me does not automatically delete your data held by WhatsApp.
I delete communication data when it is no longer required to handle your enquiry or provide coaching. Where individual records are subject to legal retention obligations, I keep them for the required period. Where data or consent records are needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, retention is limited to what is necessary under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Article 6(1)(c) GDPR applies to legal obligations. The relevant retention or limitation periods determine the duration in those cases.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you can object on grounds relating to your particular situation. To exercise rights against me, email [email protected].
You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority, including the authority responsible for my location: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate (external website, new tab).
Providing data through WhatsApp is voluntary. Without it, communication through WhatsApp is not possible; email and the form remain available. I do not make automated decisions or carry out profiling as part of this contact channel.
